Mothers Day
flowers: image 1 0f 11 thumb

The picture is of Blooming Orange roses that our Son planted while on leave from Iraq. They bloomed on Mothers day for my wife after his passing.

The frame(#3)11x14 is redwood that was naturally colored from a white outer to reddish/orange inner. A rubbed Carnauba wax finish was all that was used to protect the wood and add luster.

Memorial Rose

This is a picture of a Memorial rose (the name of it) that was planted in place of one that was killed while doing house work. The original rose was planted by our son on leave from Iraq.

The frame(#4)11x14 is pine with a Dark Oak stain and a rubbed Carnauba wax topcoat. This frame compliments and highlights the Rose picture nicely.

White Rose
flowers: image 3 0f 11 thumb

This white rose was planted by our son on leave from Iraq. The frame(#8)11x14 is Pine finished in Dark Walnut Danish Oil.

For whatever reason I can't take a picture of a picture, the rose picture is very nice and is once again not represented properly here. I guess I need to build a studio just to take pictures of the pictures, go figure.

Freedom Rose

The Freedom Rose was sent to my wife from another Army mom while our son was in Iraq. 3 rose plants were sent this is the only one that survived, funny that it's the one next to the flag pole.

The Frame(#10)11x14 is RedWood with a Tung oil finish. The photo does not do it justice (once again)it is a deep red that fits the rose nicely.

Trailer Wild
flowers: image 7 0f 11 thumb

This is what happens when you don't move your trailer for a year. These little mint wild flowers grew up from underneath and where so pretty I had to take this shot.

The Frame(19)16x20 is redwood left overs that had a white/yellow/red tone to the wood, I topped it with a linseed oil finish, the combo just worked so well for these little flowers.

The Basket
flowers: image 8 0f 11 thumb

This photo is of a floral basket arrangement that our daughter had on her kitchen table for Thanksgiving in Kansas. You can't put anything in front of me that looks like a picture and not expect me to take one.

The Frame(20)16x20 is redwood with a white outer and red inner to the wood. I did something a little different with this although it is hard to see from the photo(you can make it out if you enlarge it), I used dark oak danish oil to a lip in the center of the frame and the outer edge to highlight, then sealed the wood with natural danish oil and topped it with a natural poly topcoat this frame looks really unique and is a wonderful complement to the photo. The highlights really do add to the look and gives almost a burned appearance to the edges.

This photo was taken in NM, not sure what the flower is. If someone could tell me that would be great.

Frame (23)11x14 is Tropical Walnut w/ a natural danish oil finish and semi-gloss lacquer topcoat. Beautiful wood with black stripes running thru deep red browns.

Purple Haze
flowers: image 10 0f 11 thumb

This photo was taken in Show Low AZ around our Grandsons birthday. The flowers were next to his swing set and they were just so pretty I had to take the picture.

frame(28)16x20 is purple heart polished with a fine grit polish and a gloss lacquer topcoat.

I know it's a lot of purple but I couldn't resit, it just all came together so well. The matting was something I saw in my head once the photo was printed and before I had even started the frame. The frame needed to be simple giving up the detail to the photo and the matt. Purple Heart was chosen to compliment the print, I think it worked out well.
